Akon is a world-famous American recording artist of Senegalese origin. In an interview with Ellen Degeneres, in January of 2009, he stated that he was Muslim and as such did not consume intoxicants or smoke.

He also has his own charity for underprivileged children in Africa called Konfidence Foundation.

Moustapha Akkad

Moustapha Akkad was an American film producer and director of Syrian origin. He was well-known for his involvement in the Halloween horror franchise and for directing a number of religious movies, including Mohammed, Messenger of God and Lion of the Desert.

Akkad was killed in tragic circumstances, after being caught up in a terrorist attack in Jordan in 2005 at the age of 75.

Ahmed Ahmed is an American Muslim of Egyptian origin. Ahmed is an actor and comedian who has featured in several shows and movies, including JAG and Executive Decision.

According to Ahmed’s official website, ‘AHMED AHMED was born in Helwan, Egypt on June 27th, 1970. His parents immigrated to the U.S. when he was one month old and he grew up in Riverside, CA. He moved to Hollywood when he was 19 years old to pursue a career as an actor and stand-up comedian. He attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.’

Dave Chappell

Dave Chappell is well-known stand-up comedian based in the United States of America. He embraced Islam in 1998, and his conversion has been documented by the mainstream media.

Christopher John Farley of Time Magazine, in a report from 2005, states that ‘Chappelle won’t tell me exactly how he met Salim but describes him as a family friend. A soft-spoken Muslim, Salim seems also to be something of a sounding board to Chappelle, who converted to Islam several years ago.’
